NHS QUANGO'S MOVE TO LOCAL COUNCILS

Quango’s moved from NHS to local councils. They didn’t solve the problems of the NHS when will the governments learn? The government said it was shedding the Quango’s, all its doing is moving them from one budget to another.

    •    Councils are to get responsibility for public health.

    •    The move will see local public health directors transferred from the NHS into local government.

    •    A health inclusion unit will be established to oversee the drive to improve the health of people in poorer areas.

    •    One of the key strands of the strategy will be the idea of "nudging" people into making healthier decisions rather than lecturing them.

    •    Examples of this include incentive schemes where healthy behaviour is rewarded with vouchers.

    •    Employers will also be told they have a major role to play in helping staff become healthier.

    •    Reference will be made to a "responsibility deal" with industry. The idea is to get them on board without the need for regulation.

And Health Secretary Andrew Lansley told the BBC the new system would have a "real impact on improving health".

They can't do in the future what they have not done in the past. More waste of money from the governments, because they simply do not have the right systems, strategy and methodology to meet the objectives.
