John Anthony West's - Egypt Appeal for Funding

Rogue egyptologist and mystic in skeptic's clothing.

Author, lecturer, and guide, John Anthony West delivered a seismic shock to archaeology in the early 1990's when he and Boston University geologist Robert Schoch revealed that the Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt, showed evidence of rainfall erosion. Such erosion could only mean that the Sphinx was carved during or before the rains that marked the transition of northern Africa from the last Ice Age to the present interglacial epoch, a transition that occurred in the millennia from 10,000 to 5000 BC.

"Egyptian civilisation was not a development, it was a legacy"

John Anthony West

John wrote the following appeal on his website:

I am still looking for funding for our Geologists Panel. The two main private funding sources who've expressed interest are still interested, but nothing has happened yet. This project can be carried out by contributions through our 501(C)(3) non-profit, the Ancient Wisdom Foundation as a purely scientific project, or the science can be privately financed with its considerable profit-making potential in mind - major video (the long-awaited follow-up production or even follow-up series, to our original MYSTERY OF THE SPHINX), book, lectures, exhibits, etc. (There is a full information package prepared, including a budget for the geo-panel).

If you are interested in participating at either level, or if you know anyone who might be interested, please get in touch. It is imperative to carry out this survey. Without it, the Sphinx theory, however valid and scientifically demonstrated, is heading towards academic limbo, misrepresented and marginalized by its opponents. A report by an independent panel of geologists with expertise in the various specialties involved is absolutely essential to provide the publicity and press to keep the battle alive. Without that, it could get buried.

The Ancient Wisdom Foundation Egyptological Library Stevan Baloga, a wealthy young art collector and bibliophile died tragically in a freak automobile accident in April of this year. In his will he bequeathed me his extensive library of over 450 books on Egypt, many of them extremely rare and some very valuable. I am hoping to be able to avoid selling this collection and am looking for someone to buy it and donate to the Ancient Wisdom Foundation, where it belongs, and where it can remain intact (and growing) in perpetuity.
